World Malaria Day (Prevention & Control for Malaria)
Dr. Devi Prasad Hegde, Consultant Physician at Kauvery Hospital, Electronic City, Bangalore, shares insights on World Malaria Day, observed on April 25th to raise awareness on prevention and eradication. He explains that while malaria cases have reduced, India still contributes 80% of cases and deaths in Southeast Asia. He stresses prevention through mosquito control, clean surroundings, nets, and repellents, along with early detection and treatment. He urges collective efforts to make India malaria-free by 2030.
