World Hepatitis Day | Act to Prevent
Dr. Rakesh Sringeri, consultant gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Kauvery Hospital, Bengaluru, highlights World Hepatitis Day on July 20th, focusing on raising awareness about viral hepatitis. This year’s theme is "One Life, One Liver." Hepatitis A and E spread through contaminated food and water, while B, C, and D spread via infected blood or bodily fluids. Early screening and antiviral treatment can prevent liver damage. The global goal is to eliminate hepatitis B and C by 2030, with a 90% cure rate for hepatitis C.
